The Martha’s Vineyard project focused on designing a destination website within the Simpleview ecosystem, with an emphasis on delivering a clean, elegant, and visually refined experience under a compressed timeline. As a more advanced project in my time at Granicus, I was able to approach the process with greater efficiency and confidence while maintaining alignment with the Art Director and platform requirements.
The process followed a structured workflow, starting with moodboards to define a minimal and luxury-oriented visual direction based on client expectations. From there, I developed wireframes to establish hierarchy and user flow, ensuring content such as listings and detail pages remained intuitive and easy to navigate.
I then moved into high-fidelity UI design and interactive prototyping, creating responsive layouts for key templates. The focus was on:
• Establishing a clean and minimal visual system using a restrained color palette and typography
• Creating a sense of hierarchy and elegance through spacing, layout, and composition
• Maintaining consistency across templates within the Simpleview framework
Despite the accelerated timeline, the project moved efficiently through each phase. The final design was presented and approved in the first round without revisions, allowing for a smooth transition into development.
Designed a clean and elevated destination website for Martha’s Vineyard within the Simpleview ecosystem, balancing a minimal and luxury-focused aesthetic with usability and platform constraints. Delivered the project under a compressed timeline, achieving first-round approval and ensuring a consistent and scalable design solution.
This project reinforced the importance of clarity and decision-making under time constraints. Working within a compressed timeline required a more focused and efficient approach, prioritizing essential elements and avoiding unnecessary complexity.
A key takeaway was the value of restraint in design. By limiting visual elements and focusing on typography, spacing, and composition, I was able to create a more refined and cohesive experience that aligned with the client’s expectations.
The project also highlighted how a structured process can support speed without compromising quality. Leveraging the Simpleview framework, combined with clear communication and alignment, allowed for a smooth workflow and a successful first-round approval.
Overall, this work reflects an evolution in my design approach—balancing efficiency, aesthetic sensitivity, and usability to deliver a polished and effective digital experience.
